Guided Meditation from the Centers for Spiritual Living Cultural Coast (CSLCC) in Sarasota, Florida
8 June 2025
On Sunday, June 8th, Reverend Theresa Fieberts of the CSLCC engaged her congregation by using Portraits in Faith images for a guided meditation. She said, “Using a variety of black and white portraits from Daniel Epstein’s Portraits in Faith project, the audience was guided through a two-part meditation we called: 'Beyond the Story into Seeing the One Reflected in the Many.' After noticing their natural habit of making up stories (something we all do as meaning-making humans), participants were invited to see the person in the photo not as a stranger, but as a shining expression of the Divine, a living part of the One. This reflection reframed our conditioned tendency to see with a belief in separation rather than the heart-opening experience of Unity. The spiritual principle we found was that the One multiplies and diversifies Itself into all life. This new awareness created within us an elevated reverence towards everyone we meet.”
Thank you to Reverend Theresa for this innovative use of the Portraits in Faith content!
