On Saturday, October 18th, 2025 in Trento, Italy, Daniel Epstein was the guest of producer/curator, Lia Beltrami from the organization Emotions To Generate Change. The forum was a stage in the downtown square of Trento during the Fall “Autumnus” Festival. During Covid, Lia came up with the concept of having outdoor picnics with small groups of people around the world to create connection and community in a time where we struggled to have either. Since Covid, Lia has continued to hold these small, intimate gatherings and has even published a book about this concept: “Picnic:  The Art of Living.” 

In this event, Lia interviewed Daniel on stage about Portraits in Faith and whether he had experienced a favorite picnic or small gathering. Daniel shared the unique experience of gathering all 20 interviewees from Mumbai, India one year after the interviews were completed. They all gathered in the home of one of the interviews and it was a magnificent experience connecting people who might otherwise see each other as the “other.” In India, this is especially true across socio-economic tiers even more than across religions.
