The Cincinnati Festival of Faiths

2 August 2026

Portraits in Faith was pleased to be a Legacy Sponsor of the 2026 Cincinnati Festival of Faiths held at the Xavier University’s Cintas Center. The highlight of the day was a Sacred Listening Workshop for 21 participants. This is the first time an actual dialogue/listening exercise was part of the festival.

Participants had this to say about the workshop:

  • “It’s refreshing to stop from time to time to let people know they can learn from such an experience in listening.”—Fran Coleman

  • “Great content, questions and facilitation. The videos were powerful. A wonderful reminder and example of not fearing difference or the unknown but leaning in and toward it. Thank you!” —Julie Washington

  • “Listening is powerful and non-threatening. Spiritual nurture and deep, worshipful listening are part of my work. I enjoyed doing so in a new venue with new perspectives!” —Cathy Barney

  • “I found my conversation partner to be very open and warm in our conversations. We agreed that we have a lot in common in how we interact with the world.” —Michael Moore

  • “The workshop is a great model and the questions utilized are a sort of parallel process with what I utilize to assess spiritual needs and inner strengths in patients/families I encounter in my health care chaplaincy! We call it dignity therapy!” —Clair Hochstetler

In addition to the workshop, 300 of the Portraits in Faith books were donated and distributed to attendees, workshop participants, and volunteers.

Thank you to Deidre Hazelbaker, Executive Director of Equasion, the organizers of the Cincinnati Festival of Faiths, who invited Portraits in Faith to be a partner. Also, thanks to Mollie Newman, New Cause Marketing, LLC, for her partnership.
